Terms of Service
Last updated: August 12, 2026
These are the rules for using Corvus. We've kept them as plain as terms can be. Each section opens with the gist, then the actual language. The short version: use it with your own Blackboard account, we treat your academic data as sensitive, and there's an arbitration clause with a 30-day opt-out you should know about.
01Who we are and accepting these terms
In short: Using Corvus means you agree to these terms.
Corvus ("Corvus," "we," "us") is an independently operated service based in Massachusetts. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Corvus for using the Corvus web dashboard and Chrome extension (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
02What Corvus is
In short: A student dashboard that reorganizes your own Blackboard data.
Corvus is a student dashboard that overlays Blackboard Learn. A free Chrome extension reads your own Blackboard session in your browser and syncs your courses, assignments, grades, announcements, and materials into your Corvus account. The web dashboard then gives you weighted grade math, a cross-course assignment timeline, deadline-drift detection, a per-course AI TA loaded with your syllabus, and a syllabus viewer.
Corvus is a convenience and study tool. It is not an official record, and it does not replace Blackboard or your institution's systems. Your school's grades and records remain the authoritative source.
03Eligibility
In short: You need to be 13+ and a student at a school that uses Blackboard.
You must be at least 13 years old and an enrolled student (or otherwise authorized user) at an institution that uses Blackboard Learn to use the Service. By using Corvus, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.
04The extension and acceptable use
In short: The extension only reads your own Blackboard session. Use it that way.
The Corvus extension reads only what you can already see when you are signed in to Blackboard as yourself. It uses your own authenticated browser session; it does not use administrator access, it does not scrape other students' data, and it does not bypass any access control.
You agree that you will:
- use the extension only with your own Blackboard account and session;
- not use Corvus to access data you are not entitled to see;
- not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service or its rate limits;
- not use the Service for anything unlawful or against your institution's policies.
You are responsible for making sure your use of Corvus is consistent with your school's acceptable-use and academic-integrity policies.
05Your account
In short: Keep your login safe; you're responsible for what happens under it.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Danger zone.
06Payment terms
In short: The extension is free. The dashboard is $8.99/month or $30/semester. Both plans renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime from Settings.
The Corvus extension is free. Access to the web dashboard costs $8.99 per month or $30 per semester (the semester rate is deliberately below the monthly rate over the same period, so committing for the semester saves you money). Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude any tax that may apply.
Both plans renew automatically. Unless you cancel first, your plan renews at the end of each billing period (monthly for the monthly plan, each semester term for the semester plan), and the payment method on file is charged the then-current price. This continues until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription → Manage billing, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops all future charges. Your access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops. We do not cut you off mid-period.
If you change your mind shortly after your first payment, contact us within 7 days at our contact page and we'll refund it. Beyond that, payments already made for a completed or in-progress period are not refunded automatically. If something went genuinely wrong, though, tell us and we'll make it right. Renewals you forgot about count as something going wrong; ask.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. If we change prices, the new price applies only to billing periods that begin after we've told you, and we'll give you notice in the product with enough time to cancel first.
07How we treat your education records
In short: We treat your academic data as sensitive: no training, no marketing with it.
We treat your academic data as sensitive. We do not train AI models on it, we do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it. We hold it only to provide the Service to you, and you can erase all of it yourself at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect and how it's handled.
08Disclaimer of warranties
In short: Corvus is provided as-is; double-check anything that matters.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Corvus reorganizes data from Blackboard and generates AI responses that can be incomplete or wrong; grade calculations, drift alerts, and TA answers are aids, not guarantees. Always verify important academic information (deadlines, grades, and requirements) against Blackboard and your instructors before you rely on it.
09Limitation of liability
In short: To the extent the law allows, our liability is capped.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Corvus and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, grades, academic standing, or opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Corvus's total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Corvus in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
10Dispute resolution, arbitration, and class-action waiver
In short: Disputes go to individual arbitration, but you have 30 days to opt out.
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.
Except where prohibited by law, you and Corvus agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, and on an individual basis only. You and Corvus each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or any other representative proceeding. The arbitration will be conducted under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider and will take place in, or remotely from, Massachusetts.
30-day opt-out. You can opt out of this arbitration and class-action waiver. To do so, send written notice through the Corvus contact form within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name and that you opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the courts described below, and opting out won't affect any other part of these Terms.
Either party may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies.
11Termination
In short: You can leave anytime; we can suspend accounts that abuse the Service.
You may stop using Corvus and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or where we're required to by law. On termination, the license to use the Service ends; you can delete your data before you go, and account deletion removes it as described in the Privacy Policy.
12Changes to these terms
In short: If terms change materially, we'll update the date and tell you.
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. When we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the product. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the Service and delete your account.
13Governing law
In short: Massachusetts law governs.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the arbitration section above, any disputes not subject to arbitration will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
14Not affiliated with Blackboard or your school
In short: Corvus is independent, not endorsed by Blackboard or your university.
Corvus is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blackboard Inc., Anthology Inc., or any college or university. Product and company names are the trademarks of their respective owners, used only to describe what Corvus works with.
